Whilst I appreciate that CRUK have to be very considerate in terms of any position they take, and to be cautious with any statements to that effect, I do think it would to the Public Health community at large a world of good if they were to stop focusing entirely on statistical and chemical measurements, and actually *speak* to users of these devices and see the massive difference they make to their quality of life, and factor that into their studies and positions and without wishing to get to morbid, Im sure that quality of life is something CRUK would be familiar with for many of those it works with/for, and is not something that youd discount lightly
A ban would lead to a 15% decline in smoking by 2026 the study predicts and by 2060, the number of deaths would decline 5% which may not sound like much, but that would be 650,000 lives saved and life-years lost would be reduced by 8.8% or 11.3 million years
